Are you like me and have a ton of books that you have yet to read on your shelf? Are you an avid consumer of books, magazines, and online articles too? Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed by the amount of content out their available to read? So do I. And that is what this blog is about.
I have become swamped in unread books and I want to start getting through them quickly. This blog is my attempt to do that by blogging about the books that I am reading and the struggles that I am having elbowing out time to read and keep my wallet in my pocket when I see a new book come out.
I have been writing reviews for books online on Amazon and Goodreads for years now, but this blog will be more than just a review of back catalogued books. As many of the books I am a reading are of a historical or political nature, there is plenty of material to take a deep dive on. While I will continue to write reviews on Goodreads, I will use this blog to write more in depth pieces examining the details behind the narrative and chart my own struggles to get through my unread pile.
I also read plenty of news and opinion articles throughout the week, some of which are very good and worth your time. I will also be using this blog throughout the week to direct you towards these articles and share some of my own thoughts on the topic being covered.
This is a rather ambitious goal and I am not sure how any of this will shake out. Some things may change throughout the life of this blog, especially as life continues to happen all around me. But if you are willing to come with me on this journey, then I will do my best to make it an enjoyable one.
The first I will be writing about is Hit Makers: The Science of Popularity in an Age of Distraction by Derek Thompson. Expect that blog post to come about by the beginning of next week.
